Crypto wallet infrastructure has two related responsibilities: helping the business move funds and showing where those funds are held. Separate wallet roles make the policy easier to manage.
Hot wallets: operating liquidity
A hot wallet supports frequent payment activity. Keep balances aligned with anticipated payouts and configured operating limits.
Warm wallets: the treasury buffer
A warm wallet provides a controlled reserve for replenishing operational wallets and collecting surplus. Automation can apply thresholds, destination rules and approval policies.
Cold wallets: offline reserves
Cold storage separates longer-term reserves from online payment activity. Workflow automation can prepare a transfer, but the relevant signing process remains necessary before execution.
Make the dashboard useful
Show the native asset, network, wallet role, available amount and transaction status. Display base-currency equivalents separately, with a valuation timestamp. Include gas-fee allowances and a clear exception queue.
